Happy New Year Everyone!
It's been a super busy holiday season around here. Cody was in Spokane for Christmas and had a wonderful time with his family (I should have bugged him to take pictures so we could share them). I spent a lovely Christmas with my family in Gonzales. On Christmas Eve, my mom made a shrimp gumbo and we opened presents. We spent Christmas day at Ryan and Heidi's house with the Rossi tribe. Here are some pics:

When Cody came back from Spokane, we had our own Christmas at my house. My favorite gifts that we gave each other are the ones that we made. I made him a art piece, where I decoupaged pages from a math book onto a canvas and then painted a quote from his favorite author/physicist on top...
...and he made me Marcel!!! (pictured on top of the Mindy Kaling book he gave me. Which is hilarious, by the way)
I never go out for New Year's Eve. Never. I just don't like it and I don't think I ever will. Too much pressure to have this amazing night that always disappoints because people hype it up too much. Also, I love the idea of fresh starts and new beginnings and who wants to start the first day of the new year with a hangover?? Not me. So Cody and I spent a nice evening in Gonzales with my family. We had a delicious dinner at Mike Anderson's with Mom and Dad and MaMaw. Then we bought lots of fireworks and popped them in my parents backyard (Cody had never popped fireworks before!! It was fun to watch him). There was also marshmallow roasting and then Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. A perfect New Year's Eve night, if you ask me.

Since the holidays, I've been working a lot and we've been preparing for the big move. I have to go pack now, because we're leaving for DC in the morning! We have a couple of appointments to look at apartments and lots of leads. We are so excited...and nervous and a little stressed out. See y'all in a week! xoxo
Good Luck and have fun! Hope you have great success finding a place that you will love. Hugs, Aunt Boo
ReplyDeletel Loved your latest adventure and pictures. Hope you and Cody find an apart. soon. Have a great time! Love, Nanny
ReplyDeleteWhew! I thought I would have missed tons of (ok maybe like 10 or so) blogs since last year. You and your decoupage are impressive! So is that word. Super cool ring of fire pic.
