Taco Tuesday (Valentine's Day Edition)

I have never really been big into Valentine's Day before. The truth is it's been a long time since I've been in a serious relationship. But I'm not totally against the idea either. I've always loved receiving a card from my mom and a Whitman's Sampler from my dad. And I was never the type of single girl who hated Valentine's Day and thought it was archaic and invented by Hallmark. I actually think it's nice to have a day that's all about love. I have so many loves in my life and it's fun to spread the love on February 14th. But since this year I have Cody to share this day with, it made it very special. But on the other hand, I was adamant about not going overboard and keeping things simple. Cody left for work very early that morning, and when I (finally) woke up, this is what I found on the kitchen table:

A French Press, coffee, my all-time fave candy, and note written on origami

Since right now I'm like a housewife with time on her hands, I hit up Target while Cody was at work and bought some Valentine's Day accoutrements. I bought some fun paper and made a crooked heart garland. I also used some old sticky foam paper and cut out hearts to stick on the front door and the table. I also bought a fun plate ($2.99) to put some goodies on. Cody's gift from me was the book "Blackout" by Connie Wilson. It won the 2011 Hugo Award. If you're like me, you're saying "What the hell is that?" Well, it's like the top honor for sci-fi books, so....that's pretty good.

Valentine's Day fell on Taco Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with lots of love. And if all this lovey-dovey crap made you feel sick, I humbly apologize.

I'd like to end this post with this short documentary. Please watch it if you have a moment. Johnny Barnes is my new Valentine.
