Happy Birthday, Mr. President

As you may have known, Sunday was President Lincoln's birthday. I was feeling very festive and had the idea of visiting the Lincoln Memorial to wish Honest Abe a happy day. Of course, his b-day fell on what the meteorologist called "one of the coldest days of the season." The wind was blowing at 50 mph (no exaggeration) and the wind chill factor reached the single digits.

So, I started the day looking like this....

....and ended up looking like this.

Thanks Cody for making it look like I'm wearing the Washington Monument as a hat.
On the way to Lincoln, we first stopped at the World War II Memorial.
It's beautiful and I'm really looking forward to seeing it when the reflecting pool is done with construction and the fountain is working.

Then we stopped at the Korean War Memorial.
I can only describe it as haunting, powerful, and very moving.

Then, we wished Lincoln a happy birthday.

On the way back home, we stopped to say hello to Albert Einstein.

He's wearing sandals!

Two great minds
It was a cold, blustery day, but lots of fun. We warmed up with pizza from Radius. Is that the 3rd or 4th time we've eaten there since we moved to DC? I'm losing count.

  1. Happy Birthday Aby baby! Almost in time for the release of the biopic Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Damn, Albert is huge!! What size are those sandals? E=27 squared?? Btw there are two Alvert Einstein lookalikes who go to my gym. Your coat looks super warm. And I hope y'all laughed a lil at the museums.
